2 minute install of wordpress
I received a few emails from noobies regarding the install of wordpress via cpanel. I had forgotten how hard it is for a noob to maneuver around cpanel. It’s second nature to me now, but in the beginning, everything seems hard. I put together a tutorial to help you install wordpress via cpanel. It only takes 2 minutes.
First login to your cpanel and click on “fantastico” or fantastico delux.
Click on WordPress in fantastico.
Click on new installation in wordpress.
Enter the domain name you wish to install wordpress on. Make sure that your domain is either hosted on or forwarded to your host. For example, login to your where your domain is registered (godaddy or network solutions) and change the name server to point to your host. If you are with hostmonster, then it should be something like NS1.HOSTMONSTER.COM and NS2.HOSTMONSTER.COM. If you’re with bluehost, it should be NS1.BLUEHOST.COM and NS2.BLUEHOST.COM. Also make sure that domain is added as an addon domain with your host. I’ll cover this in a future post. Type in the required info for login and etc. The directory can be left blank or you can create one for the install. I like to leave it blank. Click Install.
Hello World! You are ready to start making money online with your new blog.

I do exactly the same thing. I don’t blame you for not commenting if you think you’re not going to add something new to the discussion.

Thanks for this article. I’m currently using BlueHost to host my websites and so far, they seem to be pretty good. I’m not sure, though, what other people think about the specifications of the hosting plan they offer, as with some hosts, you may get more.
