If you haven’t already noticed, i run a lot of contests to promote this blog. So far, it has brought me a lot of traffic and buzz. I give out random prizes, cool gadgets, ipods, domain names, and even cash. People are suckers when it comes to a free meal. Same thing with blogging. If you run a lot of freebie contests on your blog, bloggers will link to you and spread the word about your wonderful site. Making money online is all about traffic. Contests are a great way to drive traffic to your blog. It doesn’t even have to cost a lot of money either.

So you set up a contest on your blog, now what? Well, you can be inactive and hope for people to notice, or you can market the hell out of it. If you’re running the contest to launch a new site, obviously you don’t have that many readers. So, no one will know about your great contest. You have to go out and announce it to the world. I put together a good list of sites where you can submit your contest. All of these sites let you announce your contest for free. I know that it could get time consuming to submit to all these places, but trust me, it works. Here is my almost complete list of contest blogs.

Digital point - Great place for learning and networking. You can submit your contest to the contest thread, or the freebie thread.

BlogCatalog - Great place for noobs to network and announce your blog contest. I haven’t been active in the community lately, but i still try to get involved in the discussion from time to time. Add friends and chat in the discussions. When you submit your contest, try to make it sound like a real discussion or your thread will get banned.

Contest beat - Free contest submissions. Didn’t bring in a lot of traffic, but still worth submitting.

Contest Canada - Great great place to submit your contest. This site sends a lot of traffic. What can i say…Canadians love contests!!!

Review wow - Another free contest site.

Contest U - Site that is showing some promise. The admin of this site gets involved. That’s more then what most contest bloggers do.

There are a lot more contest sites and blogs, but i only listed the ones that sent clicks to my sites. Also, i hate contest site that require you to login, join, or pay. Don’t want to deal with all that shit. I just want to submit a contest for free! Also, most of the other sites are either dead, or hasn’t updated in months. If anything, you’ll get a free link by submitting to these sites. Also, if you are a fan of contests, you should set one up yourself. I think there aren’t that many good sites for contests. I’m actually thinking about setting one up myself. It would be a great way to launch a new site with minimal work. Contest blogs don’t require any work. All you need to do is set up a submit form and the blogger fills in the content for you. If i have missed any quality sites, please leave me a comment with a good site.
