Hello newbies! My blog is officially 500 days old. It’s been 17 months since i launched this cheesy blog. (Blog was set up in July 07, but didn’t start working on it till late Oct 07) I haven’t been updating this blog recently. The reason is because i don’t need to. But, i plan on doing some restructuring on this little blog. I plan to do some organizing. Anywho, i wanted to share with you guys my income report. It doesn’t look like much, but this blog is a money maker. This make money online blog has paid for a lot of my tech toys. (I recently bought the Nintendo DSi and a macbook before that. When the next iphone comes out, bloggernoob.com will pay for that as well.) This blog has even paid the rent on several occasions. Word of advice for noobies who are trying to enter this niche. Don’t! It’s is much better to set up a blog that is more fun to update. You can make just as much or more money with a blog about cats. Set up a blog like you would start a new hobby. Write about things and post pictures of things that you enjoy doing even if you didn’t get paid to do it. As far as SEO and internet marketing, you can do the painstaking task of building anchored text links from blogs that you actually enjoy reading. I use to supplement my blogging income by writing for a blog that i didn’t own. I got paid around $15 dollars per post. The post could be anywhere from 100 words to 400 words. I took the job not because i needed the money, but rather for experience. I wanted to learn from this blogger. I wrote for an iphone blog. I have been a fan of the iphone every since it came out. During that same time, i started my own iphone blog. I figured that i wouldn’t need to do any additional research for this freelance gig. I don’t blog for other people anymore. I have found that the time invested is just not worth it. I would much rather invest my time into something that i own. But, i did learn something big. I learned how the bigger fish play. I learned how to think bigger with my blog. You can end up with a nice blog farm by setting up your own blog network. Buy and sell wordpress themes to make money online. I hired a guy to build me a unique theme. It didn’t cost me a lot of money. If i sell a couple of themes, i’m sure i’d profit off of it. A lot of make money bloggers do this to increase their income. It’s something that doesn’t cost a lot of money, but can add some passive income. You can also opt to give these wordpress themes out for free. You can either sell off the footers links to sponsors or build up PR on one of your other sites (by putting your own link in the footer).
