Internet marketing gets a bad rap

make money online with heather grahamInternet marketing and the “make money online” niche gets a bad rap because there are a lot of scams out there. It seems like every landing page that i get to, is an internet scam. You have the classic voice over intro with a long list of reasons why you should buy their ebook. The site has a ton of testimonials from “Kelli, Little Rock and Jim, Santa Clara” praising the product. It all looks fishy. Did Kelli from Little Rock really buy the product? Did Jim from Santa Clara really make $17,823.43 by using the secret strategies in the ebook? All of these pages look like late night informercial scams. Can people make affiliate landing pages that don’t look like scams?

I think a lot of people who want to make money online are scared. Noobies fear getting ripped off. I know that i was cautious when i first started out. I know myself to not fall into paying for a scam. But i was still cautious anyway. I didn’t want to waste my valuable time on something that i knew was scammy. I think differently now. The internet is filled with possiblilites. I know that 99% of MMO type sites are bogus, but i play this game because of the 1%.

You have to use common sense when making money online. Think about it guys. Think deeply about the program or site. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Think about the motivation behind the product. Think about why that blogger is selling you his $1000/day secrets for $97. Why give away the secret for $97 when he makes ten times that in a day? It all doesn’t make sense. Business types are not willing to give out secrets.

Most of the “make money online” schemes are variation of the “envelope stuffing” schemes. When i was in high school, i saw a newspaper ad promising “envelope stuffing” riches. I could work at home stuffing envelopes and it would only case me $29.95 to get started. I paid hard earned allowance money for a book that told me to place ads and sell books for envelope stuffing.

Don’t let these scammers prevent you from making money online. Don’t seek guidance in a $50 ebook. It’s a cliche but you really do have to think outside the book. If you try to implement johnchow’s strategy, you won’t make anything. Why? Because there are 200 chow clones out there trying to do the same thing. Being number 201 on the lower end of the pyramid won’t make you money. If you want to make money online, you have to understand the basic concept of internet marketing and create a new marketing system.

Traffic and links are all that you need. If you have both, you can make some nice cash. Everything else is just glitter. A cute web template or a flashy wordpress theme is just fluff. It won’t help you make any money. Don’t waste your time on that. All you want to work on is traffic and links. Once you have traffic, you can easily sell ads or make money with affiliate commissions.

If you notice, most of what i’m saying is general info. This is as good as it gets folks. No body in their right mind will give away their secrets. It only creates more competition. Keep that in mind the next time you get lost and think about paying for Yaro or Ninja courses.

Internet Scams…gotta hate them I wish they would wrote an addon to the popular pop up blockers to block out all these ridiculous squeeze pages. In all honesty internet marketing is not a science but it does have a methodlogy follow it and you can be successful and once you master the basics then think out of the box.

internet 4 money- yeah it doesn’t make sense.

hye munar- as long as you don’t fall for it, it’s all good.

internet marketing course- works for a few people online. the reverse funnnel guy and the rich jerk.

derrick- that would be cool. block landing pages with testimonials that try to sell you a bogus program. won’t work tho cause scammers will figure out a way to bypass the filter.

Honestly, it’s like watching TV at 3AM…I often wonder — does all that hype really sell products? Don’t people see right through it? The hard sell turns me off right at the get go. I wish more people WOULD think out of the box and stop throwing up the same old crap just because it worked once. But you know what PT Barnum said…there’s a sucker born every minute.

netta- yup. the world is filled with suckers fish and noobies. that’s why poker games and internet scams flourish.

*Nods* I don’t want to get rich that way. Taking money from people too ignorant to get out of their own way. Maybe that makes me as much of a sucker, but I still have to look at myself in the mirror every morning. I just can’t do it.

If quality doesn’t sell, I’m screwed and my Evil Plan to Take Over the Universe is useless. But at least I can live with myself.

    This was a great post.

These pages must work (unfortunately) because I have seen pages that look like this since I started trying to make money online in 1998. Hmm, making a sales page or landing page that doesn’t look like this could be worth something.

netta- thanks netta for you comment. unfortunately, this is how the game is played. I don’t want to be a scammer, so i have low expectations for how much this blog makes. πŸ˜‰ But with my other blogs. it’s all fair game. Buyer beware! caveat emptor

b carter- let’s develop this together. Keep this on the downlow. It could make some money. a simple software that creates non informercial type landing pages. πŸ˜‰

I have been told that Clickbank make it difficult to receive a commission through pushing you to sell masses of separate e-books via assorted credit cards and Paypal. I would like to utilise Clickbank sadly I am concerned with this situation. Do you know if it is the case?

With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my authorization. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being stolen? I’d certainly appreciate it.
