I just talked with Debby over at Market Leverage. Since my last Ipod Contest was such a hit, she wanted to sponsor another one. That’s great news for you guys. To promote my contest, i will tap my regular marketing resources. I haven’t yet decided on what type of contest to set up. Maybe you guys can help me decide. Leave me a comment with your suggestion. If i go with your idea, i’ll give you a domain name or something. As always, it’s going to be easy to enter. Looking back on my blog, i notice that i did a lot of contest promotions. I think that’s one of the reasons that bloggernoob was able to grow. Running a contest is a fun and effective way to grow traffic and readership for you blog. If you want to make money online, you better give some stuff away. It looks like one of my winners received their prize a few days ago. He even wrote me a message. Thanks for thanking me Jared.
The contests that you decide to set up doesn’t have to have expensive prizes. It helps, but that’s not the most important thing. The important thing is to keep it simple. Make it easy to enter. And you have to market your contest. Nobody will enter if they are not aware of it. Also, try to have fun with it. Give away random prizes. Make it fun. If it isn’t fun, then it’s a waste of money.
I’ve given out a lot of prizes on this blog. I gave out random cash prizes. I awarded someone an iriver Portable media player. People have won Ipods, video cameras, usb pens, and ads on my blog. I even gave out a bunch of domain names. I plan on giving out a lot more prizes in the near future. My next one will be another Ipod contest. Help me think up a cool contest. I should announce it in the next few days. Be sure to enter. Noob out!
