Most of you already know that i blog on a lot of different sites. It took a long time to figure out which sites monetize best. I’ve set up so many blogs, it’s not even funny. I’ve set up comedy blogs, gambling blogs, and even porn blogs. In theory, i still believe that you can monetize any type of blog. Even if you blog about something random like “horse whispering” you can still draw income from it. Bare in mind that certain blogs are easier to monetize then others. Unless you’re a world authority on “horse whispering” you’ll probably find it more difficult to monetize then a movie blog. If you want to make money online, start with the blogs that are easier to monetize.

The blogs that make money are in very competitive niches. Makes sense. If money is there, you’ll always find a lot of competition. People start those type of blogs because they see other people making money. The best way to go about this would be to get in on a new niche. Start early on a new technology. Or take advantage of a changing economy. If you set up a foreclosure blog 4 years ago, you are probably making some nice affiliate commission now.

Let me talk about my collection of sites. Most of my blogs make money online. Most don’t bring in bloggernoob type numbers, but i still make a couple of bucks here and there. The ones that make a bit more are the ones i want to focus on.

I have a deal blog that consistently pays me affiliate commissions. It doesn’t take a lot of time to update that site, because there are so many deal site already. All i need to do is browse a few of my favorites and pick and choose the deals i like.

My credit card blog also gets me some hits. It’s not as consistent as the deal blog, but every month or so, i’ll get a new signup. Commissions for credit cards are high.

Dating sites are always good. You ever watch an eharmony commercial? It’s everywhere. There are a lot of lonely people in the world. Didn’t they make a movie about match dot com? (John Cusack, Diane Lane) Anyone? If you can write up some interesting and funny dating tips, you should be able to draw some lead commission for eharmony, match, fling, etc.

If you are good with web design. You should definitely start a web design blog. If you design a wordpress theme, and it becomes popular, you’re google page rank will shoot up to like 6 or 7. Offer free themes with your link in the footer. Sell premium themes to your readers. It’s a good way to make money online. I’m starting to get into web design. I don’t know much about it, but i’ve been reading these books. Been studying. I’m putting the effort in, because i know that it will be good for my blogging career. I won’t ever have to pay for wordpress themes, and i could build up my collection of sites for free with footer links.

And of course, you gotta have a blog about blogging. Make money online blogs, Internet marketing blogs, or any garden variety blog about blogging will get you paid. Sure, it’s filled with idiots. Sure, there are way too many in this niche already. But, this niche is where a lot of the money flows. A lot of marketing sites are willing to pay for private ads if you have a solid site. If you a lot of readers, you make a lot in referrals. A lot of noobies will fork over cash to get a review of your stupid MMO blog. I see it happen all the time. Newbs are such suckers!

I have to warn you tho. Make money online blogs are really boring. It’s not fun to write, and after a while, you really get a nasty taste in your mouth. Make money online blogging is filled with bullshit. And, you if you want to make money, you have to spit some of it out. You have to kiss ass and push affiliates that are scams. The really successful MMO blogs make money because they scam people. If you feel comfortable selling your soul, then yeah, set up a MMO blog. Or if you want to be like me (honest), know your income limit. I’d think i won’t ever become rich with this blog. It’s cause i try to be honest. I won’t push, deal dot com, reverse funnel system, or wiki pages. I only push them on paid reviews, but you guys are smart enough to tell the difference my regular posts right?

One last note, you can set up blogs on your domain, just to grow that site. When you buy a new domain, don’t just leave it parked with your domain registrar. Do something with it. I’m not saying that you should develop a full site on it. Just install wordpress and put up one post. After a couple of months, you might even get PR on that site. Then, you can easily make a few bucks with it.
