My first featured thread on sitepoint
I’ve been pretty busy with my postings so i haven’t been on the forums that much. I checked today and to my surprise, one of my threads got featured. Sweet. Getting a highlighted thread means traffic to your site. The whole point of participating in forum threads is to say something useful so people will want to check out your site.
This makes me want to start posting threads in forums more. I can’t stress enough about how website building is a numbers game. Announce your site to as many places as you can. The more you work at doing this, the more traffic you will receive. If you try a few times and don’t see any traffic change, most blogger will quit. That’s why you should continue. Cause most bloggers quit too soon, that leave the window open for you to flourish. Don’t try a few times. Try try try again and you will see increase in traffic. These are all free sources of traffic so why not.
Once you start seeing an inkling of increased traffic, you’ll totally be motivated to work on it more. Keep doing this, and you’ll discover that all your hard work has paid off. Then you don’t have to work so hard to make some extra cash with your blog. I’m working hard on this blog right now, so i won’t have to later.

Congrats buddy, I’ve been a member of sitepoint since 2005 but never got any featured thread there, well maybe it’s because I’m too busy with their contest section

Neato. I actually strike it a lot with the featured threads. I have almost 300 posts and around 5 featured threads.

justchris-wow. 300 posts. very nice. i got a nice boost in traffic from sitepoint cause of it. i should post more frequently there.
