The drug problem in America is hurting the fabric of our civilization. Drug addiction is one of the most serious addictions. People tend to try to escape their problem by using drugs. Instead of facing the problem and figuring out a solution, they’ll hit the crack pipe or injection needle. I was watching a documentary about aids and how most of the new infection are via dirty needles. Of course most of this is happening in Africa, but still. Injection drugs are probably the most dangerous forms of drugs. Drug users are not the most healthy people in the world. They don’t take safety precautions and they are torn by the drug addiction so they can’t make rational decisions. Drug addicts should consult professional help. Drug addicts should look to loved ones for help. But sometimes this is an impossiblilty because of the shame and disappointment that follows. Friends who know of a friend that has a drug addiction should try to intervene and get some help for the addicted friend. If that doesn’t help, you can try to get some professional help for them. But the bottom line is that the drug addict has to choose for him or herself that they need to get help. Even tobacco or caffeine addiction can become a problem. So think about how serious a crack addiction is. The guys over at narcononstonehawk dot com have many options for drug addicts to get help. If you’ve never visited their site, i recommend you do so now. I used to have a problem is drugs. Not the heavy hitters but i did dabble with weed. I waste three months of my life doing nothing but smoking weed. Of course it wasn’t a serious problem, but i could have jumped to other drugs too. If you know people who are using drugs more frequently, you should have a talk with them. Maybe you can prevent them from stepping on the hard drugs. You can go to them for drug rehab, drug treatment, and drug rehabilitation.

You’re so right… it’s a much bigger problem than we know. Even some really “sharp” working professionals I know struggle with drugs… I personally don’t see the appeal, but I do feel for those that are hooked.
