What’s going on with Alexa

Bloggernoob dot com used to have an awesome Alexa rank. I was hoovering around 50k. But now, my alexa can barely maintain under 150k. I check out other blogs in my niche and i noticed that their Alexa Rank fell too. What’s going on with Alexa? I know that they recently changed the way they calculate the rank. Alexa just updated about two days ago and BloggerNoob dot com has now broken the 50k mark. The Noob is the owner of a Alexa 49,237 blog. Woohoo. But this doesn’t mean much. I’ll tell you why. 
I posted about my alexa contest at the end of December. I didn’t expect a lot of people to enter, but i was still disappointed at the turn out. It looks like only 5 people have entered. Most of you have bet against me so if alexa doesn’t update by the 11th or i don’t get in the 5 digit mark, one of you will be $100 richer. Looks like 20% chance of winning for those of you who entered. Very good odds i must say.
