Bloggers who want to make money online need to hook up with trusted ad networks. There are a lot of websites that promise you money, but you have to do some research before you can trust most of these ad programs. I have been blogging for about a year now and i still don’t trust most of the ad networks. I only trust the ones that have actually paid me. And let me tell you, very few have actually paid up.
Let me start off by talking about referral income. Referral programs are shit. These things are border line scams. Most referral programs will not make money for you. Let me use payperpost as an example. Payperpost is a site that lets you sell links on you blog for money. The problem with the referal program that they have over there is that most of the bloggers you refer will not get any posting opts. That means that you will not get paid. You just do a lot of work promoting their site and giving them free backlinks for nothing. Most of the referral programs are like this. You will not get paid for the work that you do. I do not recommend any of you chasing after referral income. Sign up bonuses are just as shitty.
Most ad networks work on a net 30 or net 60 basis. This means that they won’t pay until the 30 or 60 days is up. I try to test out each and every ad network with a little work before i devote my precious time into them. I don’t want to rack up a few thousand dollars in commisions and realize later that the site was a scam. Or, worse, i didn’t read the fine print on the TOS. I know that it is a drag, but try to read the TOS (terms of service) before you do any work.
Read up on the credibility of that website. Do some google searches and browse webmaster forums for info about the ad network. Ask around and find out if they pay up. I’ve joined close to a hundred different programs that supposedly help me make money online. I honestly do not even remember the URL of like 90 of them. Find ones that you trust and stick to them. Keep trying to find new outlets for income, but be cautious. There are a lot of shady programs out there. Also, when you run into some trouble, try to contact support. If there is no answer within 48 hours, do not waste any time with that program. Noob out!
