One of the “make money online” traps is centered around useful blog posts. There are thousands of wannabe “make money online” bloggers who preach this message. When i started this blog, i was convinced of this as well. It made sense to me at the time. The blogs that i was reading get me all brained washed. If you write a useful blog post, a few people will read it. It is a great way to grow your blog, but, it is time consuming. If you try to keep writing useful posts, you will run out of things to say within your first month. The fact of the matter is this. There are not a lot of useful things to say about the “make money online” niche. It all about creating hype for a version of a site or product that already exists.
Every few days, you will find a blog post about the net “it” product. They will push this program/scam to make a few dollars. These scams are all repackaged scams from the past. That’s why there really isn’t anything new under the sun.
There are a lot of different programs that you can use to make money online with your blog. There are sites that you can join to make things easier for you. But, when you break it down, there are only a few ways to make money online.
First there is google adsense. These get paid per click programs like adsense or adbrite are hard to monetize. This is the most popular way of making money on the web. It is also one of the hardest ways to monetize your blog. First of all, you need a lot of search engine traffic to make even a few dollars with this. Secondly, most of you guys who read my blog, are not at this level yet. Shoot, i’m not even at this level yet.
You can also try selling links to make money online. Payperpost and sponsoredreviews is a site that plays the middleman role for selling links. If you blog for ppp or sr, you are not writing quality posts. You are just masking the links that you sell. That is why if you use these sites, your pagerank drops. If you’re not convinced, take your high pr blog and do some paid plugging. Milk it cause you’ll lose your PR in the next update. You don’t have to use paid plugging sites to sell links. I have found that selling them directly on web forums is much more profitable. You need to have a lot of high PR blogs to do this tho.
The third way you can make money online is by putting up affiliate links. Most of you guys know how this works. You join an affiliate program and put up the links that they give you. If a visitor clicks and buys, you get paid a commission. I started this blog off with affiliate links. But, i quickly found that MMO blogs are bad for it. I have a few other static sites that i built up that makes some consistent affiliate commissions. Nobody will share the secrets with you. The reason being, it makes it harder to milk the system if they share the info with you. So, do not buy into bullshit affiliate programs. Just tinker with it and find your own secrets. If you find something that works for you, don’t share it. Don’t be stupid!
Selling something is the oldest method of monetization. Think about it, the “worlds oldest profession” is prostitution. Women who sell their bodies. You can make money online by selling whatever. Sell stuff on ebay. Sell domain names. Make a bullshit product and sell it to noobs. Repackage an old scam and sell it. If you work at it, it will sell. Believe me.
This is it guys. Making money online isn’t complicated. All of the forms of monetization are variations of the things i mentioned above. Don’t worry about delivering useful posts to your visitors. You probably do not have that many actual readers. Also, if you want to make money, it’s all about gaming the system. It’s not about quality. It’s all about spotting a exploiting point and milking it until it runs dry. Noob out!
