Web designing to make money online

June 10th, 2008 by the noob

I think a lot of bloggers forget the importance of design. I’m a guy, so maybe my design senses aren’t as high as my female counterpart, but i still know the value that a good design brings to a blog. Web design isn’t that complicated. Web surfers can tell right away if your site has a good design or out. The hard part is to put all the pieces together. I’m not a coder or designer, so i like to leave that up to the professionals. I look to others when designing a blog.

Internet users all have ADD. People who read stuff online are usually magazine types. They’re not novel types and they definately are not Bible types. That’s why it’s important to have flashy images and a glossy finish on your blog. Recognizing who your readers are is the first part of web design. If you run a tech blog, you want to tech up the design. It might help to include some cool java script into your sidebars and etc. My blog is a blog about blogging. I’m in the make money online niche. So my blog’s design is simple and set up to have a lot of content. My site needs a new theme, so i’ve been looking around for web designers. Maxwebdesign.eu is one that caught my eye. They are good at meshing your blog and design.

I personally like blogs that have a lot of white in it. I guess that’s just me. I’m a very minimalist type of blogger. I like the design of a blog to support the content, not the other way around. It maybe seem easy, but it’s really hard to design something simple yet stylish. Look at Apple’s products. The ipod, iphone, mac are all super cool to look at. Do you think that was easily done? Nope, just look at PCs for proof. That’s why it’s important to find the right type of web design for your blog. If you can’t personally code and design your site yourself, you should find a web designer who you feel can deliver the perfect design for your site.

Actually learning to code is pretty difficult. You can probably piece together blog themes by looking at the different codes of various sites though. That and a little work on photoshop.

jared- yeah. that’s how i am learning. take it apart and see how different things function. I think it’s more fun learning this way. I just take a theme i like, and look at the structure of it. ;)
